TableTone in Action

Here's a quick overview of the key features in action.

How TableTone Works: The Key Features

TableTone is an adaptive audio app designed for tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) enthusiasts, providing an immersive sound experience to enhance gameplay. Available on both iOS and Android, TableTone offers studio-quality music, ambient sounds, and sound effects tailored for various gaming genres like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror. The app's intuitive interface allows users to easily control their sound environment, helping Game Masters enhance their storytelling with dynamic, interactive audio. The key features:

Location and Situation Wheel
Users can select locations (e.g., forest, tavern, dungeon) and adjust the situation to fit the scene in the game – relaxed, suspense, or action – resulting in over 24 customizable ambience combinations within a single preset.

Intensity and Mood Sliders
Customize the sonic intensity – seemlessly from subtle background music to epic, high-stakes soundscapes – and the mood – dark, neutral, or bright – to match the tone of any situation. The audio will adapt without interruption.

Adaptive Music Engine
The core of TableTone is the adaptive audio engine and the machine learning curated music library, which provides real-time mixing and seamless musical transitions based on the in-game situation. Music evolves in intensity and mood, ensuring smooth shifts from peaceful moments to epic battles.

Sound Wheel
Add sound effects like thunder, dragon roars, or spells. The wheel offers up to 12 different effects per preset, which can be manually triggered. Our subscription gives you access to the entire TableTone library of over 100 sounds and counting.

Global Ambiences
There are global ambiences, like rain or skirmishes, that can be seamlessly adjusted in intensity to fit any environment. You can add them to any location or scene.

User-Friendly Controls
The simple interface allows for easy adjustments of all audio settings, keeping the focus on the game without interruptions.

Preset & Scenes

Presets and scenes allow you to prep your game sessions in advance.
Presets
Choose the locations and sounds you'll need for your session. For example, select a tavern, forest, and cave, along with sounds like a heavy door, wolves, and a dragon roar.

Scenes
Organize these assets into scenes that align with your story's progression. Prepping these in advance allows for seamless narration, letting you focus on storytelling while the mood shifts naturally with each encounter. View scenes like snapshots of settings within a preset.

Example
Start your session in a relaxed Tavern scene, then seamlessly shift to suspense as the story unfolds. As your players move to a new location, like a forest or cave, adjust the mood and intensity with ease. Each scene can evolve dynamically, matching the story’s twists and turns.

Balancer Triangle

Fine-tune the audio balance of your game sessions with the balancer triangle.
The balancer triangle functions like a two-dimensional audio mixer, allowing you to find the perfect balance between music, location ambiences, and global ambiences. Simply move the cursor within the triangle to emphasize different elements and create the desired atmosphere.

Example
Start with a balanced mix of music, location, and ambience as your party enters a lively tavern. When the gnome plays her lute, move the cursor upward to spotlight the music. As the night winds down, shift focus to the fireplace for a cozy, late-night feel. When the action heats up with a sudden intrusion, emphasize the music to ramp up tension and excitement.

Automatic Music Selection

TableTone automatically selects music that perfectly matches your current location or situation, enhancing your game experience with minimal effort.
The Automatically Selected Music feature acts as your personal DJ, seamlessly transitioning music based on the location or situation you’ve chosen. Simply swap locations, and new music will start playing instantly, creating smooth transitions without any manual intervention. When you move from one location to another (e.g., from a relaxed forest to a suspenseful tower), the music changes automatically to suit the new atmosphere. The repeat blocker ensures variety.

Usability, Customization and Platform Integration

Presets and Scenes
Save custom sound configurations using Presets and specific environmental setups with Scenes, enabling seamless transitions between different game sections. Presets store combinations of sounds and locations, while scenes capture the current settings, allowing for quick retrieval during gameplay.

Universes
You can select a universe, such as Fantasy, Horror, or Cyberpunk, in the app menu. All for use available content, including ambiences, music, and sounds will fit with the chosen universe, ensuring a consistent atmosphere for your game.

Subscription Model
With the new subscription model, TableTone offers continuous access to a growing library of high-quality sounds and ambiences, providing fresh content regularly. Subscriptions are cost-effective, offering premium audio at a fraction of the price of individual asset packs.

Mobile App
Available on iOS and Android, and soon expanding to desktop platforms other integrations. Users can download content for offline use, making TableTone functional even without internet access once assets are stored.

Community-Driven Content
Regular updates based on user feedback ensure that new sounds, ambiences, and features continue to be integrated, with a focus on high-quality production from professional musicians and sound engineers.

What’s the Difference Between Presets and Scenes?

Presets: A preset saves a collection of your chosen locations on the location wheel and sounds on the sounds wheel. This allows you to save all the locations and sounds needed for your campaign in a single preset. If you require more locations or sounds, you can simply add another preset. To edit the current preset, click the pen symbol at the top right of the wheel.

Scenes: A scene saves the current parameter settings in TableTone, including the selected location and situation, intensity, mood, and activated global ambiences. Scenes are saved as part of a preset and allow you to smoothly transition between different sections of your campaign by using pre-selected story parts. To save the current settings into a scene, click the book symbol at the bottom right and press the save button. To edit a scene, select it from the scenes list, adjust the settings, and then save.

Can I save my configurations?

Yes, you can save your presets and scenes. To create and save a preset, tap the pen symbol in the top right of the main wheel, to save a scene, tap the book symbol in the bottom right of the main wheel.

Can I load my own sounds and playlists into TableTone?

Not at the moment. The reason is that TableTone is an interactive multichannel application. We work with complex layers and metadata that need to be specifically produced and integrated for the TableTone engine. TableTone is more than a music player: Adding static audio files would drastically reduce the possibilities of interaction.

Will there be an integration for Discord?

We are planning to integrate TableTone into Discord.

Will there be an integration in Twitch/Websites/widgets/anything else soon?

A browser compatible, server based client/host solution is planned for development.

Where do I find the login now?

You find the download in the main menu under about.
